On Orders Over £55PMS or pre-menstrual syndrome is a chronic condition experienced by menstruating women characterised by distressing physical, behavioural and psychological symptoms that occur on a monthly basis. The cause has not been formally identified but is thought to be due to fluctuating hormone levels. Symptoms vary from person to person but may include mood swings, anger, sleep disorder, fatigue, anxiety, breast tenderness, weight gain, bloating or headache. Certain lifestyle changes such as reducing stress, exercise and diet can reduce symptoms but there is increasing evidence that complementary therapies can be very helpful.
