Loose Tea

Loose Tea

Ask any true tea enthusiast and they will probably tell you that loose leaf tea is the freshest and most authentic way to enjoy a cup of tea. Not only is it often presented in exceptionally distinguished packaging, such as uniquely decorated tins or boxes, loose tea consists of the whole, larger tea leaves and not the tiny scraps that tend to be used in tea bags.

Is Loose tea healthier than tea bags?

If you consume tea regularly for its purported health benefits, then there is no doubting that loose leaf tea is the better choice. Compared to tea bags, a bold loose leaf tea blend is of a higher quality and stays fresher for longer too. Only when it comes to a higher caffeine content in your cup does a tea bag outshine a loose tea blend, as it is widely believed that tea bags provide a more caffeinated drink in a single steep.

What is loose tea good for?

It has high concentrations of antioxidants that scavenge free radicals from the body cells and help combat damage caused by oxidation. In fact, the fresh, loose leaves of Green Tea have the highest concentrations of catechins, which are polyphenolic compounds that possess potent antioxidant properties.

How do you make a cup of loose tea?

Put 1-2 teaspoons of your preferred loose tea into a tea strainer, and then put the loose tea strainer into your cup. Pour heated water directly over the loose tea leaves. If you prefer to use a teapot, measure 1-2 teaspoons per 240 ml of water.
