Eye Q Omega 3 & 6 Capsules from Equazen includes 'Equabalance', a ratio to indicate how combinations of the most important essential fatty acids EPA, DHA & GLA are carefully tailored to meet the specific needs throughout life. Equazen Eye Q Omega 3 & 6 Capsules offer a combined formula of omega-3 & omega-6 fatty acids, which are required for optimal brain and eye function. These capsules deliver the highest grade of natural oils, where only the purest, naturally-sourced fatty acids are used. The following omega essential fatty acids include:
- Omega-3, Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) - comes from fish oil, and is particularly important in laying down the structure of the brain in early life and for providing ongoing repair.
- Omega-3, Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) - also comes from fish oil and plays more of a functional role, as it is crucial for moment-to-moment brain cell signalling.
- Omega-6, Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) - comes from evening primrose oil and its metabolite Arachidonic Acid (AA), also plays a structural role, assisting in normal nerve function, especially learning & memory.
Equazen recommends taking six capsules a day for the first 12 weeks to ensure an optimum intake of long chain fatty acids, and then reducing this to a maintenance dosage of just two capsules a day thereafter.
The dosages are suitable for both adults and children, but those aged under 5 may want to start on 2 capsules a day and gradually build up to 6.
