Traditionally, Herbes de Provence includes Basil, Rosemary, Thyme, Oregano, Marjoram, bay leaf and tarragon.
In French cuisine Herbes de Provence is used traditionally on meat-based dishes like roast lamb and chicken or grilled fish.
With the exception of basil, Herbes de Provence shares none of the same herbs and spices found in Italian spices. It also has a more potent floral taste and aroma.
