What are the benefits of Manuka Honey?
Manuka Honey is a monofloral honey, sourced from the nectar of the New Zealand Manuka Tree. It contains naturally occurring active ingredients (Methylglyoxal) that distinguishes it from regular Honey, and is categorised by an the MGO rating, which clearly indicates the minimum level of Methylglyoxal content in each and every jar. No other system of measurement gives such a clear and simple indication. The higher the MGO rating the more Methylglyoxal!
Manuka Honey has long had a reputation as a 'healing honey' and is commonly sold as an alternative medicine. Manuka Honey's high sugar content combined with Methylglyoxal, its antibacterial active ingredient, is thought to create a waterless environment that harmful bacteria is unable to survive in. Take 1 teaspoon (5g) of Manuka Health MGO 30+ Manuka Honey Blend (5+) 30 minutes before meal, 3 times daily. Intake can be increased if necessary.
