What is plastic free?

Being free from plastics started with a movement to make more sustainable and environmentally friendly packaging. Since then, more and more products, that were once made of plastic, are now also available in plastic free alternatives too. Materials such as natural fibre cloth, beeswax and bamboo to name but a few, have a much lower impact on our planet.

Why is plastic free important?

The production of plastic contributes to global warming, as almost all are made from chemicals such as coal, oil and gas. Plastic spreads toxins around the environment for many years, threatening not only global warming but wildlife too. In today's modern world however, it is evident that efforts are being made globally to reduce our reliance on single-use plastics. This upsurge in social awareness has particularly impacted the next generation of individuals, and has seen more and more people as a whole engaging with all sorts of environmental issues. 

Why should we stop using plastic? 

Reducing our dependence on plastic will result in:

• Fewer carbon emissions - from production, transportation, disposing & recycling.
• A reduction in natural resources – If plastic is no longer produced, natural sources like gas, oil and coal would no longer be required.
