What is Evening Primrose Oil?

Evening primrose oil is sourced from the seeds of the flowering plant Onagraceae, which grows in temperate and subtropical regions of North America. Often referred to as EPO, evening primrose oil is a rich source of linoleic acid and gamma-linolenic acid, or GLA.

What does evening primrose do for a woman?

In addition to maintaining skin health, the gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) found in evening primrose oil is thought to produce a hormone that generates an inflammatory response, which is better known as prostaglandins. This has prompted some women to reveal the success they have had when using EPO for the symptoms of PMS (premenstrual syndrome), breast pain and the Menopause.
